AKA "get out of the way" sound. Heard it before, AFAIK it's a button that can be pushed on the siren controller.

I believe its called HyperYelp. Should be on most new digital siren systems.

I reckon the new siren sounds more like the traffic cars.

I heard one going up the terrace the other day and initialy thought
based on the high pitched wail that it was a police car.

Cheers

Reportidly being put onto every new van that hits the road and retro fitted to the older ones during servicing.

Only problem is I've heard they've run out of stock

Word is it's activated by tapping the horn (like the US ones I assume)

You turn the siren on by the centre console button use the normal foot control button to change tone and if you want hyper yelp push the normal horn button.

Is very useful and it gets more attention from the public 8)

when i was an ambo a few years ago they trialed a new 'yelp' siren that cut in over the nomal 'weewhaa' and it failed dismally. The activation button is on the floor for the left foot. dont know what they have now.

trying to "get attention" of the white hatch that doesn't slow to an ambulance going the wrong way with full lights and sirens.
no respect.
