Nah I could never perfect that art of dribbling and dragging knuckles. Have a look at some of these guys and tell me that you would consider it. Most of them look like bags of SHYT!!

Dont get me wrong, they do a hard job in hard conditions, but they are not backed by management by giving the required level of training. If you are working in a country town hrs away from any professional help, I would want all the training they could give me so that people not die needlessly. Unfortunately Harry (DR. Death) held training back from these guys for far too long. The new MD is not as bad, and I am away budgets are always of concern, but a life cannot be justified to a monetary value.

Improve the training levels, and the appearance of the volunteer service and I might offer some of my time, but until then sorry, never have and never will.

In America, most emts are trained to the same level, regardless of position - THATS MY COMMENT ON THAT -

SO YOU CAN MARKMYWORDS ON THAT

Hey Herpes,

USA & Canada seem to be way ahead in the development of Pre-Hospital Care. Most of our text books are written by them. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.. being newbie and all.

I personally prefer to stay in Aus however I know many whom have traveled overseas to pursue careers in emergency services.

www.acadian.com is a good example of a Private Service Mate of mine works for them.

Kyle

Just had a look at the site. Very impressed with the fact that the ambulance service has driven home some core principles of building a family type environment. Wifes, Kids, Husbands, Mothers, Fathers, etc... all pay the price for someone doing ems work.

There overall appearance as a company is impressive. Very professional and extremely well skilled in comparison to Perth. This is what I would envisage a service would be like. A nurturing place that encourages personal and professional growth.

You are only as good as your people let you be!!!!!

Well thats what my mate was telling me they have a wonderful culture. More then just the job which is very encouraging. It also proves that Private Ambulance Services can work collectively.. with Government and main providers.. They also have incentives & there own training college. Plus they also have nurses on the Airmed Crews which I think is great as many are unappreciated by Ambulance Services in WA.

You start off doing 1 sub-center extremely well then slowly pick up another and another, until you cover a few 000's klms but have a large amount of work. Put money back into the communities instead of the communities putting there money into a volunteer service. Always a way to make a $ or two in the process.

A wise person once told me its better to have 2 Ambulances that provide exceptional, high standard care. Then many with varying standards.

Herpes: Well im sure they would get enough people together to take over one community at a time haha sja have pissed enough people off in that process haha :P

and ur right the service should put in to the community not vice versa for a vollie service that would barley run with "stretcher bearer" quals.

Well at least the auto lift stretcher will protect your backs.. Mind you I almost laughed then then thought well my BMI isn't exactly ideal.. Still Im working it off just so if I end up in accident I don't have to call the obese Ambulance.
