Yer i noticed the decky as well on the xr8.
So if i can add up correct they have 2"hotted up" paramedic vehicles which probarly get used on the track at barbagello and 4 ambulances plus a 4wd ambulance as well
Either a lucrative contract or getting work from somewhere.
Do they still pay per call or hourly rate anyone know ?
Just wondering with new owners iwhat changes they made, but with all those vehicles if i didnt have bums in seats id be getting rid of them.
That VW ambo is an old one the new one should be diesel and have in built side flood lights midway down each side ex nsw ambo.

Figured as much hey, they get chopped chopped when they get pulled off the road in Vic the wiring its cut to hell.bomber wrote:Was speaking to advance life today and mentioned the mercs. Was told that 1 is at the auto elec, and the other is having the decals fitted.
Car Dealer who sells them in Bibra Lake $36,000 a piece not as an ambulance so minus all the extras and wiring all cut. He had 2 in his yard which both ALAS brought. Considering at auction they sell for $22,000 each
But if you you them straight from the ambulance service as an ambulance all decalled up lights sirens the work $33,000 lol
So if i can add that up correct 2 new vans plus 4 old ones plus 2 "paramedic cars" must be getting rid of a couple of the old ones i guess.
Cheers bomber for the updates !!! you dont work for alas do you haha

But looks are the most important thing aren't they?!?ZO100_marto wrote:The contract with Wanneroo Raceway must be worth a bit if they can afford two hotted up vehicles that have no purpose other than looks
I'll see if I can get any decent pics of the ALAS vehicles in action next weekend at the V8s. They mostly hide in the infield though and don't move much.

(These last two images are of V8 driver James Courtney after his prang in the second practice session on Friday afternoon...)

Got it spot on there !!!ZO100_marto wrote:gee the picture of the merc is the first model used as an ambulane in oz, that was the model that SJA here in WA thought the "base cap" was a clever design
Hope they don't need to get any where fast with that model, getting out and walking was often quicker
This one came from the Victorian Ambulance Service over in Melbourne and was built by Mader International and sat in a car yard in bibra lake for a few weeks before they purchased it. Went bit cheap on the decals though.
I think there "paramedics" not doctors the on course doctor has his own car i believe.

Well the Doctors' vehicle was one of those - the red sedan next to the mostly-white ALAS ambulance.Markmywords wrote:I think there "paramedics" not doctors the on course doctor has his own car i believe.

The red hsv is the chief medical officers car basicly in charge of the events medical services, who sits in race control. He only comes out for big smashs. The FIVs have a driver paramedic and a DR on board at all times.
I saw the merc VW and ute going P1 something big happened around the back police and heaps of security.
On my way home i saw VW coming into barbs with a police escort then out with a escort. Bastards i had to wait in the traffic!
