Rapid Response Vehicles doing ambulance escorts i thought that should be left to WAPOL its like the SJA team leader giving a crew a P1 escort to hospital it would never happen.

Why would an emergency vehicle with lights and sirens need another emergency vehicle with lights and sirens escort it to the hospital

Also you should have your siren, lights on and alternating.. I heard of a SJA accident when they only had the lights on and it went to court.
Are you saying they went to court because they didn't have their sirens on??

ROFL

Does that mean that every pt that is collared at a smash should have a police escort because into hospital?

There has never been in WA a spinal patient who has been injured worse during transport. If the ambulance driver is driving as they have been taught then smooth acceleration, smooth braking easy cornering etc etc is all they need. So same again why tie up another police car when there's already bugger all on the road.

When a pt is one forms 1 & 3 a police officer is required to travel with the pt in the ambulance and the other officer just follows to pick him up at the other end. So again no police escort required....

i have personally been involved with unstable C spine fractures with subluxasion via rfds where police escort was required because we could only travel at 30km per hour. And yes by the way it is also common practice for RPH to do the same when transferring the same kind of PT to Shenton Park. You are right in that no we dont need that from the scene of an accident unless instructed to do so by a higher power.

The police escort was a lights n sirens one, guess the chopper was busy as well as sja down there.

I dont know what kyle was talking about if an ambulance was in an accident i doubt the officers would go to court well unless who ever was wheeling was negligent and seriously injured or killed another driver/person.
