Third alarm bushfire on Great Northern Highway in Bullsbrook near Rutland Road.

I think this started as a vehicle fire around 3:30pm and it's grown from there.

Grade four refreshments for sixty people was just requested as I was typing this so there's a fair number of people attending.

DFES has issued an Advice for the area.

The fire is burning in grass and scrubland along Great Northern Highway. Nearest cross street is Sounness Drive.

Estimated time to control is 6pm today. Appliances and resources already tasked should be sufficient. Comms plan is MCE2. Winds are light and from the south, 10-15km/hr.

Dozer from DPAW requested also.

Control point will be the Bullsbrook Fire Station on the arrival of the ICV.

Bushfire EMERGENCY WARNING for the western part of Casuarina and the eastern part of Bertram in the City of Kwinana
Tuesday 24 February 2015 - 12:10 PM
A bushfire EMERGENCY WARNING has been issued for people in the western part of Casuarina and the eastern side of Bertram in the City of Kwinana, bounded by Thomas Road, Orton Road, Johnson Road and Bombay Road. This includes the Kwinana Freeway.
• You are in danger and need to act immediately to survive. There is a threat to lives and homes.
• The fire is burning in the Spectacles north of Thomas Road and is burning in a south easterly direction towards Kwinana Freeway.
BUSHFIRE BEHAVIOUR:
• The bushfire is moving fast in a south easterly direction.
• It is out of control and unpredictable.
• Burning embers are likely to be blown around your home. Spot fires are starting up to (number) metres ahead of the fire.
WHAT TO DO:
• If the way is clear, leave now for a safer place.
• Do not wait and see, leaving at the last minute is deadly.
• There is ember attack ahead of the fire, so close all doors and windows, and turn off evaporative air conditioners, but keep water running through the system if possible.
• If your plan is to stay and actively defend, do not rely on mains water pressure as it may be affected. If you have access to a water tank and plan to defend your home, start patrolling with your hose and put out spot fires.
• If you cannot leave, you need to get ready to shelter in your home and actively defend it.
• If you are not at home, it is too dangerous now to return.
SAFER PLACE:
• Your safest option may be to visit family or friends who live away from the area.
