This thread is predominantly for third alarm and above bush fires however if it is a significant fire (ie threatening homes and businesses) that is at least second alarm then it will be acceptable. If it's not one of those things then post it in one of the other, more appropriate threads.

Remember also that quoting others has been disabled in this thread and WILL NOT WORK.

Please keep the posts to factual information - not rumour, hearsay, possibilities, theories etc. Also keep the information brief and to the point.

Questions about what is going on, who is turning out, why someone isn't turning out etc should be done in the general fire discussions thread.

*** Posts to this thread will also be auto-posted to Twitter. *** If you use Twitter, feel free to follow @WARSUG

Warren Road was closed by police while the main firefighting action took place. It got re-opened to traffic around 5pm.

Adding to the general chaos there was a car vs motorbike crash on Gt Northern Highway immediately north of Warren Road just before the fire vehicles started arriving. When I went past a couple of defence personnel looked like they were giving first aid to someone lying in the middle of the road. When I went back past in the other direction a little while later there was an ambulance and police car blocking most of the road, shunting southbound traffic onto the emergency lane. The smoke from the fire made visibility in the general area rather limited.
