So I have heard! It also appears I missed the first part of their transmission when they said "This is a drill"! I think I need to check my aerial connections!

It's very unusual to transmit on 6AR during a drill, me thinks someone forgot to change the transmit from ch55 mid band to a simplex channel.
Using a ladder during a foam incident would be very unusual as well. I reckon more of a comms drill than a practical drill as these aren't usually carried out during the high season, especially at Maddington.
Had me worried for a minute!

In case you're wondering what all the smoke is! Have not heard a classification but it is now under control.

Abernethy x Daddow

Welshpool 1st
Belmont
Maddington 3.4
Canning vale 2.4

Edit: Just classified as a 2nd alarm. How they justify these classifications beats me!

According to this and this, fire was in a stairwell and smoke got onto the third floor. Fire is now out.

They base it on the number of pumps that where/are required. Hence you had pumps from Welshpool 1st and Belmont, therefore classified a 2nd Alarm. 3.4 and 2.4 aren't considered pumps.

All - I've moved the last couple of posts to the General Fire Discussion thread.

Let's keep this on topic (please see first post in this thread from VK6HGR if you need any clarification on that!)

Fifth alarm structure fire with hazmat in Balcatta. Level 2 incident. Not sure of units attending, suspect it'll be a "send everybody!" :)

They're asking for grade 3 refreshments for 70 personnel. They've also put out a request for extra BA cylinders.
