Multiple fires being set along the railway line as it goes up through the Swan Valley. First call was Railway Parade in Middle Swan, cross of Oakover Road. Then more fires being seen all the way along Cathedral Ave in Brigadoon through to Bells Rapids, as spotted by people in a DEC tower in Walyunga. Source of ignition is likely to be a train (that's my guess anyway).

Reports of one shed on fire and houses under threat. Helitaks 668 669 670 671 all departing Perth Airport along with Air Attack.

Every brigade in the City of Swan has been paged to turn out I believe.

Edit: All available units in Swan *and* Toodyay turned out.

EMERGENCY WARNING issued for the Shady Hills area in Bullsbrook.

https://twitter.com/dfes_wa/status/3069 ... 60/photo/1

If my Google Map skills are accurate, it appears to be north of Walyunga National Park and east of Warbrook Road / Great Northern Highway intersection.

The West Australian reports one shed destroyed in Herne Hill. People evacuating are being sent to Bullsbrook Rec Centre.

http://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/a/-/ne ... d-by-fire/

SES Comms Support Unit has been turned out - knowing the area around Walyunga and Brigadoon, I can see why. All the hills etc make comms quite patchy around there.

Main Roads Twitter feed reports Great Northern Hwy is closed from Reid/Roe intersection to West Swan Road intersection.
