Significant bush fires 2011/12

Post by vk6hgr »

This thread is predominantly for third alarm and above bush fires however if it is a significant fire (ie threatening homes and businesses) that is at least second alarm then it will be acceptable. If it's not one of those things then post it in one of the other, more appropriate threads.

Remember also that quoting others has been disabled in this thread and WILL NOT WORK.

Please keep the posts to factual information - not rumour, hearsay, possibilities, theories etc. Also keep the information brief and to the point.

Questions about what is going on, who is turning out, why someone isn't turning out etc should be done in the general fire discussions thread.

Posts to this thread will also be auto-posted to Twitter. If you use Twitter, feel free to follow @WARSUG

Thankyou for your cooperation.

3rd Alarm scrub fires near the DNA Tower in Kings Park.

Kings Park units, ICV and 5 FESA appliances attending.

Polair 66 spotting through 6AR, asked to change to channel 96 but unable, so they're landing to get a FESA radio on board for air intel.

Arson squad notified.

Strike team just leaving Perth bound for Margs. Didn't catch them all, but from what i could tell there were a few Vollie FRS Stations ( Bassendean, Rockingham, Armidale maybe ) and USAR.
