water bomber planes

do the planes fall under fesa control? i live near jandakot and hear and see them quite often leave. both just left about 2 mins ago infact. but don't see any reports on here about them.

They are owned and run by DEC. They are frequently called upon to assist FESA just as the helitacs are called upon to assist DEC. They are located through out the state but most commonly in the south west and can be filled up at a number of airfields across the state as well.

Correction - the fixed wing water bombers are owned and run by Dunn Aviation, leased by DEC. The aircraft are based at Albany, Bunbury, Jandakot (Perth) and Manjimup during the summer fire season.
