Well I guess you were worried for nothing. If you heard the radio today it was crazy. But handled very well. I guess the dfes brass can breathe a sigh of relief that they didn't let you down.....

Got an email and SMS from the RAC.

Email pasted here:
Dear Member,

We’d like to let you know that there is a Red severe weather warning for BAKERS HILL.

Weather alert details:
After overnight rainfall further 20-40mm is expected with embedded thunderstorm activity leading to localised heavy falls in places.

Information valid from:
Sunday, 19 October 2014, 8.30am AWST to
Sunday, 19 October 2014, 2.00pm AWST

Some tips you may want to consider:
Try to keep drainpipes and guttering free from debris in advance of ensuing rains.
Do not park your car in a flood prone area.
Avoid travelling until conditions improve. If unavoidable, be prepared for likely disruption to transport networks. Driving conditions are likely to be hazardous, be prepared for diversions or possible road closures.
Don't attempt to drive, ride or walk through flood water.
Keep up to date with the current situation and State Emergency Service's information via radio, television and/or internet, if possible and safe to do so.
For more tips click here.

If you have any questions about this email, please feel free to contact us at RAC.Alerts@rac.com.au or read our FAQ's.

Kind regards,

RAC Insurance Team
Colin.

Yeah I got a similar one yesterday for my place - and an SMS to my phone.

They're actually quite good I thought, a decent amount of detail and some time frames.
