Further to gkoutlis' post (see here http://warsug.info/viewtopic.php?p=81963#p81963 ) i am the source to which he refers.
At the time i spoke to gkoutlis, FESA and WAPol were considering that the incident may be a hoax due to the fact that after an hour of searching nothing had been sighted/reported, and information from Police Airwing that the EPIRB was moving. As reported in LighteningCrashes' post ( http://warsug.info/viewtopic.php?p=81956#p81956 ) there was also confusion as to whether the incident was at Serpentine Airfield or Murrayfield Airport.
Around the same time i spoke to my employer (a major media outlet) and they had been given similar information.
This is what gkoutlis based his post on.
Subsequent to these events, a farmer (i believe) located the crashed aircraft in a paddock and notified the emergency services and the incident played out from there.
