yes helitak this arvo about 3.30pm a fire was reported in horton rd between chidlow and the lakes, looked to be burning along nicely from where i work in mt helena i heard chidlow and wooroloo units turning out but not much after that as i had to pick up my son.

Some units from Bakers Hill and Inkpen turned out allso because it came on to our shire.
Does anybody know how it started?

ALERT LEVEL:
An ALL CLEAR advice has been issued for people in between the Avon Valley and Clenton Road, Gidgegannu.

The bushfire is now under control. However people should remain vigilant in case the situation changes due to high temperatures and strong easterly winds expected for the rest of the day.

WHAT FIREFIGHTERS ARE DOING:
20 firefighters are currently mopping up and will monitor the area for the rest of the day including volunteer Bush Fire Brigade firefighters from Glen Forrest and West and East Gidgegannup plus DEC crews and units from Paruna Sanctuary.

ROAD CLOSURES:
Motorists in the area should take extreme caution as there may still be smoke across some roads in the area. For information on road conditions contact Main Roads on 138 138.

INCIDENT INFORMATION:

It is estimated 10 hectares were burnt and firefighters worked hard to get the fire under control.

I just herd a couple of helitaks are leaveing Perth AP for gidgieganup fire.
Is this the avon Valley one?

just waved to Helitaks went straight over my place to Gidgeganup Fire (the red and blue one?)

Yes I think this is the Avon Valley fire, Fesa alert calls it Avon Valley, Gidgeganup

Avon Control just gave an update Still many crew there sorry too many for me to remember (will have pen and paper next time)

Helitaks were sent as there was an outbreak in an area not accessible

Fire will be tonight left in the control of Paruna Wildlife Sanctuary and fresh crews sent out it morning

confirmed structure fire Ellenbrook, garage of house

west swan brigade informed 6AR that fire is well and truly under way

Malaga, Midland turning out

1415 Malaga Arrived 88

Osborne Park SET mobilised as garaged fully envolved

1417 west swan 34 arrived

as WEST SWAN just arrived

that was a really quick turn out from East Swan then, West Swan is lot closer to Ellenbrook

Malga, Midland, West Swan, SET, chaplin & 3 WAPS vehicles attended. Was fully involved going really well on arrival. 8 in BA, two hydrants in use and 10 lines of hose in use.

Way to hot a day to be in level 2's!!!!

What was the deal with an East Swan Appliance being there B37? or was it one of your LT's first on scene?
