I did not quite understand this, granted I have just come off a night shift. How did they do it? did they place it in the ground? or did people actually ram it into the car? The driver was very lucky it just missed him. It is absolutely shocking. I really wonder about the mentality of people in this country.

Looks like the access gates DEC uses in the plantations. No doubt the detail of how it happened will be forthcoming, not much point speculating.

The story has changed a fair bit since it was first written - makes a little more sense now.

Glad the vollies came off unhurt - extremely lucky.

What Brigade was this. I thought there was a bushfire brigade down at Baldivas as the picture in the perthnow website is a FRS Light tanker. If it was Baldivas why do they have an FRS vehicle, if theres is getting fixed isn't there at least 1 white bushie truck that they could have used as there as been a substatntial turnover of them lately.

Glad everyone was alright though

Rockingham 3rd Light Tanker. The news also showed Baldivis LT1 which had damage to the side step and door.

To be honest, does it really matter who's truck it is and who was using it? As long as they are OK.

What makes you think the offenders were targeting volunteers? Odds are they were out to cause chaos, no matter who happened to turn up.
