simple report from Brigadoon strike team member: 9pm - 9am

I didn't see any houses lost but I did hear that one has had been destroyed (unconfirmed) and that another was severely under threat with gas/fuel explosions in the vicinity.
I saw One shed was lost in Abraham Close. Although the houses in that street were extremely lucky that we got there in time. from what I saw the homes only suffered minor smoke damage on the eves and gutters. - although I did not get to every home in that street.

As at 7am, fire is being contained via mineral earth breaks on private properties through Boullannais road. We were lucky that the wind changed direction at sunrise and this allowed the crews to damp down the accessible areas.

heli 661 is on scene.
Appliances from the strike team are being released as required.

FESA don't always publish the current and/or correct information. The radio chatter on the simplex channels on several occaisions yesterday evening/night mentioned houses on fire or lost.

Aye Caversham Cntrol is Lord St x Benera Rd. Atleast 3 helitacs 668 669 670 I believe. Midland, Osborne Park, Joondalup Wanneroo, Quinns Rock, Claremont, Daglish 1st, Guildford, Bassendean, Welshpool, Belmont, Whiteman Park are there or have units there (some just a LT, bit of a drive though).. I'd assume a bunch of BFBs are there too, but haven't heard them lately. Western Power have (or had) utilities under threat on Marshall Rd.

Reid Hwy has been closed, I'm guessing from Altone Rd ish to Great Northern ish. They're shutting the upper end of Lord St I believe. Apparently a number of houses north of Reid Hwy are in imminent fire danger.

Poor firies don't get a break. Sounds like just about every fire station in WA is attending fires. Theres another seemingly nasty fire down in Kwianna.

Edit: updating stations

Just been and had a look, 4 Helitacs _ 681 on the way, Both red Air Intel and Air Attack choppers around Reid Hwy blocked Altone road to West Swan Road,
Two fires, one south of Reid hwy and east of Altone road, other north of Reid hwy between redi and Marshall roads.
Police everywhere, firies everywhere, onlookers everywhere.
Houses at Altone Road are under threat and all 4 helitacs working there.
Two Helitacs will be deployed to Bennett Springs soon (as per Air Intel).
