4 Choppers, 2 fixed wings, 1 Home damaged, fire not yet under control. Many home owners have decided to evacuate. Over 100 firies on ground with more en route. Hot notherly winds at 40-50 kph. temperatures between 40 and 50 gegrees. humidity to increase. still high temp and winds.

sorry i dropped off with the posts guys, i got dragged away from my computer. will try and give some updates now that im home.

ABC 720: For main part of the day fire was moving at about 10 km/h. Bails of hay were exploding and all you could see was tops of trees burning. People wanting to return to and see if their homes are there, but fesa are saying that altho the fire has slowed it is still dangerous to go into the area as the fire is not yet under control.

Homes have been impacted in some streets. Fire has slowed to about 1km/h and is moving in an east north east direction. Its still out of control and unpredictable but is less volatile. Parts of toodyay are without power.

200 crew on site, i would imagine that the helitaks have been stood down for the night but the FESA alert says they are still there. firefighters have saved some homes in the area but some homes have been lost.

Also unconfirmed reports of multiple farm shed lost in the Dandaragan fire.

Got home about 1600 to find units from most if not all Northam brigades had been turned out. Spent some time organising crews for tonight - cant wait for report from someone coming off the firegroud.
I drew the 0200 shift. Off for some sleep before turnout.

Accordiong to 720, roughly 6 homes lost around sandplain rd and racecourse rd. houses saved on Toodyay rd. Toodyay town has been evacuated.

Home safely from the Toodyay fire. Was tasked for asset protection then blackout in the north west sector, primarily Sherwood Rd. On fireground from about 1600 to 2200. Had the Helitacs drawing from a dam about 100m behind us. Largest fire i have ever seen and not helped by the howling winds GGRRRRRRR. *waves to all WARSUG members at Toodyay*

I was talking to a water corp person and he said that toodyay is almost out if not all ready out of water.

Northam Toodyay water pipeline ruptured from the heat. we were on the scene from 1625 to 0200. worked in the sandplain of folewood and in the sectors to the east of Toodyay Northam rd. Powerlines were down and over the road every where. loaders cleared them and power was mostly restored around 2100 to most of Toodyay. Helitacs landed at Toodyay show grounds for the night and will be working out there today again. The fire was pretty quick but wind was swirling and hills were hills were being consumed in seconds. All the best to the guys still out there. probably weeks of blackening out. Hot spots as far as the eye could see last night.

We left for Badgingarra at 1600, returned on station at about 0600 this morning. Longggggggggg drive.
