we've got a few 4 small helitaks, a support chopper with the FLIR which has a different name depending on who's talking about it, and we had a loan helicopter from the United States. It would appear that now we have 2 coming from over east. Not sure what the go is whether they'll be WA permanent or shared with the eastern states or quite what.

The DEC spotters are based out of DEC Dwellingup, the spotter that takes care of the Perth Hills District (Bindoon to south of Dwellingup) sometimes hangs out at Jandakot if it's been in the air for a while and need to refuel etc.

The Bombers are actually managed by DEC and the choppers are managed by FESA.

DEC have a very agressive stance on initial attack and mobilise the bombers as a first responce as well as Heavy Duties, an officer or two in light units, Loader/Dozer as well as a spotter aircraft.

Channel 23 is what they are usually on.

Thats a good spot for it, does anyone know what the costs are for it? I hear it's about 1.6mil with the cost being split between the federal and state govs, or is it not as high as that? I read the skycrane in Victoria costs 22mil for summer!
