Fire off Burns Beach road?

Post by meg »

Hi all

A friend tells me there's a fire up around Burns Beach road - I'm a hills person, can anyone tell me what channels to listen on (other than 6IP)? Got a few friends who live in that area...

Thanks :)

Police are using Ch26 with a command post setup, sounds like a big operation.

On my way home I heard the following. (Not quite in chronological order.)

Joondalup pump and light tanker initial response.
2nd alarm called - Joondalup 2.4 (GPA) turned out.
Wangara turned out.
Call for Helitac support - 668 and 669 turned out. Ch 23 for Helitacs.
Fireground channel 97 established.
Further call for Helitac support - 670 and 671 turned out.
Belmont ICV turned out.
Quinns LT 1 & 2 turned out as were Wanneroo LT1, LT3 (?) and Collar Tank.
Duncraig also turned out.
Crowd control asked to be made. (I suppose a lot of rubber-neckers were around)
CALM called for further air support - 2 Dromaders and Air Recon (?)
Wanneroo LT1 was on point duty as WAPOL took some time to mobilise.

I lost signal at this point. Was monitoring 55, 57, 51 and 24.

Around 2pm I heard East Gidge, East Swan and Bullsbrook called "fire call conditions" to the fire. I'm not hearing too much now on 6IP (been out with some friends for the arvo) - hoping it's under control at this stage!

Quinns LT 1, 2 & 3.4 turned out in convoy. Quinns LT 3 followed later. LT1 copped points duty for a bit.

Wanneroo LT 1, 2, 3 & 3.4 were also in attendance.

Last I saw, stuff from as far away as Oakford, Kwinana South, Mandogalup.

You'd know better than me Fastlane - I was on the road and not concentrating 100% on the radio.

No white fire appliances... I can only assume they were out on the fire doing all the work
