Re: Metro Fire Stations
Not the newer pumps, only have 2 seats in the back
Re: Metro Fire Stations
Which newer pumps are you referring to? In other states I've seen 3 seats in the back, due to the use of BA seats, but I've not yet seen it in WA, and there are only a handful of new appliances I haven't seen? The MkIV Scanias have 4 individual seats in the back.

Re: Metro Fire Stations
Kylep, the newer series IV medium have only 2 seats in the back. I would assume the new heavy pumps are the same. The middle seats have been removed and replaced with a locker for storage. Early series IV pumps had 4 seats in the back
Re: Metro Fire Stations
The new heavy pumps like hope valley only have 2 seats in the back
Re: Metro Fire Stations
Thanks for info, anyone know from which Fleet no this started? As far as I know, up to MP72 had 4 seats I think.

Re: Metro Fire Stations
Kylep. All the MPHR have 2 seats in the back. I think there is only 2 or 3 (not exactly sure) MP that have 2 seats in the back (not sure of the fleet number this started at). One was a new MPHR that was re-commisioned as a MP. It would appear that the new HP have 2 seats.
Re: Metro Fire Stations
on the topic of light tankers, murdoch are recieving the new V8 cruiser ute to use for their LT
Re: Metro Fire Stations
Sometimes during summer, the relief pool either piggybacks on other stations or man other appliances. i am not to sure with the rest of the metro but with Metro South East. Maddington is where the relief crews are stationedTyranus wrote:Standard.
Recently Midland had an old Landcruiser light tanker and so was turning out 2+2+2 as they had the pump and 2 light tankers following behind...confused me a bit when I heard 3 sirens going thought it was police giving ambulance an escort the first time.
Perth station usually has all 4 in the pump and take on some light tankers in the summer, I'm not sure though if they still roll with 4 and the pump and then 2 in the LT.

Re: Metro Fire Stations
Yeah roger I believe Midland have 2 relievers per shift on station permanently unless their relieving. One of the guys was saying it makes life a bit easier if one of the crew is in the shower than one of the relief crew will jump in the truck, much like a 2 pump station would.

Don't know who you were talking to tyranus but I would be extremely surprised if that occured . Buddah you are right in some aspects but those firies at Maddingotn can relieve anywhere in the Metro area if required and not just the stations you mentioned. My mate is in the relief pool and he said he can go anywhere and the process of sister stations has gone right out the window.

Re: Metro Fire Stations
i think that Midland have 6 crew members per shift during summer, i say atm they a waiting for a 3rd appliance, either a 2.4, 1.4, or LT.Tyranus wrote:Yeah roger I believe Midland have 2 relievers per shift on station permanently unless their relieving. if there is no extra appliance the extra crew just ride in the scannia and assist when possible.
but yeah i dont think they will leave someone behind if he is in a shower.
