Fantastic, large turn out of SES, St Johns first aid and paramedics, Wanneroo BFS ICV team.
Wanneroo ICV was there was the main command post manned by volunteer Fire Fighters who were working under an SES District Manager as the Incident Controller. Looked like they were enjoying a different experience.
SES wise, 8 units most with 2 rescue teams of between 7-10 members made for a lot of Jaffa's running around doing rescues etc. There were a couple of injuries which required people to go to hospital.
St Johns/VFAS: not sure who was actually there but there was a VFAS ute and an ambulance there, it may have been a vollie ambulance but there feedback was they greatly appreciated the opportunity to do some more serious type injuries than what they usually get at events etc. They were kept extremely busy and from what I saw handled it very well, they were all in high spirits at the end of the night so I think a job very well done.
Casualties: well my 2 friends who were casualties were really chuffed with the moulage done on them...oh wait exercise yep they enjoyed the experience and are glad to have helped.

Overall a really good exercise which benefited all emergency services present.

Agreed, excellent excercise, we have had a large number of new mebers come into the unit in the last 12 months, it was a good experience for some of these to attend an exercise of this size.

The availability of such an extensive facility (7 buildings including multi storeys), that was scheduled for demolition meant that we were able to gain access by knocking holes through walls and practice other skills which we really can't do on a building that has to be preserved.

Stairs were out of bounds in the multi storey buildings, so access and egress had to be made via ladders, with a number of casualties evacuated via ladder slide.

Of course, the Salvo's provided sustenance for all the hungry vollies as usual.
