Earlier this morning: Two Helitaks were Tracking coastal in formation [i was flying a tthe time... and had already switched to a melbourne centre frequency - but i think Zebedee has more info (when he gets on)]

Twas 670 and 671 from memory, coming down the coast and heading into Perth at 1000ft ... I think - I was busy with other things at the time and only half listening :)

im sure 668 and 669 done some drops at clenton rd gidgegannup today as well,i heard them on scanner around lunch telling 6ar the where departing airport to track to gidgegannup they returned then went back later this arvo... probably to mop up a couple of hotspots that are hard for the trucks to reach...

I also saw the s61 heading up that way... I think it was around lunch time, it was on its own so just asumed it was going for training.

670, 671 arrived late this morning from their training along with Air Intel (FB611), The S61 departed for some testing of the water tank. 668, 669 departed around 1230 I think and then arrived back. I dare say off to a fire.

S61 will be based in Busselton from January. Another will be operating in the city

According to FESA Alerts on the Lower Chittering Blaze, there were two Helitacs and two Water Bombers. (Link: https://internet.fesa.wa.gov.au/alerts/ ... ?ItemId=80)

Does Anybody know which Helitacs they where?

does anyone know the cost hor each helitac and the s61? how about the skycranes... I saw an article that said the skycrane cost 22 million for the fire season... but that would have to be for all 6 they have on the east coast right?...
