I might be wrong, but I think that it will be one of the helitacks (fire bomber) that goes down south in a couple of weeks.
It was on the back of a truck at Jandakot yesterday about to be re assembled.

One of the spotters (VH-KUE / Birddog 648) seems to be taking an interest into an area in Jarrahdale - it has done several orbits of the same spot.
Anybody hear anything about it? (click images for full res versions)
Edit: Bushfire closes section of Bibbulmun
A bushfire advice has been issued for people in the vicinity of Mt Cuthbert, 15km east of Jarrahdale along Albany Highway, in the Shire of Wandering. It is burning towards Albany Highway.

There were a couple (673 and 674 plus maybe others) circling around the Beechboro area from around 9:30am this morning, doing drops somewhere to the East, but couldn't figure out from the radio traffic where they were.
They had it under control & headed back to Jandakot around 10am.

Re: Helitak Thread
There was a small (150 x 100 metre) fire off Lord Street in Lockridge, cross of Morley Drive. From memory I think I heard Kiara and Malaga turn out to it. When I was listening before I got to work and had to turn the scanner off, they didn't have air support at that point, they were still deciding whether it was necessary or not. Sorry I can't fill any more in, I had to go and earn a dollar or twoJinbaIttai wrote:There were a couple (673 and 674 plus maybe others) circling around the Beechboro area from around 9:30am this morning, doing drops somewhere to the East, but couldn't figure out from the radio traffic where they were.
