Would appear so. My understanding is that Vic don't think they'll need the Aircranes till much later in the season if at all.

Re: Helitak Thread
The aircraft will not be known as 'Elvis'. It will be refered to as an Erickson Air-Crane. I believe FESA have told the media not to refer to it as 'Elvis'. Although some media are already calling it a "Sky Crane".Helitak_670 wrote:So are we getting Elvis are we?

Re: Helitak Thread
If I remember correctly N179AC is Elvis, thus why I said Elvis. Also depend if we are getting the Erikson boys which are S64F's or the other mob with the S64E's
Re: Helitak Thread
It will be an Erickson. Vic has the contract with them. As far as the name, good luck.

I am sure what ever the Helicopter that arrives the Name will be out in the media and as normal will put a spin on it. Shame they never pick up the names on the 802's

Re: Helitak Thread
So here is the latest info people.
It appears that we will be getting Skycrane N243AC/741 Marty There may be a rego change, not to sure yet awaiting confirmation. She will be shipped to Fremantle and then flown from Fremantle to Jandakot sometime next week. Once again it may change where it will be based and also the aircraft itself may be a different one.

Re: Helitak Thread

Re: Helitak Thread
"Elvis" has always been based in VIC except one season when she went to NSW for a little bit.

Re: Helitak Thread
Hence the reason that the WA Government and FESA are so adamant they don't want the Air-Crane that is here to be referred to as 'Elvis'.
