That is the old air intell. The helicopter for this season is a Bo105 from Heliwest.

The Helitacs have all finished as of today. Helicopters Australia are having their windup party tonight. So thanks guys for doing a great job again this season.

I saw 681 and another blue FESA chopper being shipped from Fremantle Port on the 2nd or 3rd April. Are they from the East or O/S ?

681 is the big green and white S61? I think that is from Canada, although I know Victoria have been leasing a few of the same or a similar build the last few summers.

I was at the RAAF Air show today and have a couple of photos of the Black Helicopter used for Air recon during the fire season will put photos Up in a couple of days.

so that time is nearly apon us again and with the preditions of our worst fire season yet was wondering if any one knew if we are getting extra helitaks and if they going to bring them online earlier this season

Had dinner with Troy Buswell the other evening, he was asked about the choppers and he said that we are getting the big bird again. Not sure when they are coming online though.

So far it looks like a hot dry summer on the east, a.d a moist one for us in the west.

Helitac 682 is at Perth airport getting ready, 681 is apparently arriving next week and will be based down south this summer.
