True that may be but only due to the outcome of the incident that wangara attended. Im sure nobody here is naive enough to beleive that a turnout from a station such as ellenbrook, osborne park or duncraig would be effiecient on a day such as wednesday just gone when you have a head fire moving at 200 meters in 10 minutes or more. This is not a whinge re bfb v frs as i fly aircraft non feaa related-juat an observation. Maybe im not qualified to make this observation...

On days like last wednesday another brigade such as perth 3rd will be sent to the stations of brigades already attending large incidents so yes on days like those there are backup brigads sentLeigh wrote:True that may be but only due to the outcome of the incident that wangara attended. Thats great but it does seem like "perth 3rd" or the like may be too little too late when an incident is starting in caversham and they are turning out from welshpool or osborne park as ive seen at least once this summer. Anyway, this is perhaps not the best place for this discussion but these are just my thoughts only-im sure there are more qualified personell who would be more than happy to discuss elsewhere.

Leigh, there are move-ups conducted fairly early when things get busy. You won't always hear them on the radio as they can be communicated by MDT and Telephone.
One of the nice things to see when I've visited Comcen in the past is their operating screens. There are very quick and clear prompts when an area is depleted of resources.

An FRS pump will always contact 6AR via radio when mobile to standby at another station- any message recieved via MDT needs to be acknowledged via radio.
Re: General fire discussions
anyone know where ellenbrook is going and why? I heard them talking to 6ar about radio coms for the york area and something about going past york

Carnarvon fire is still going good. People and appliances are slated to head up there from the metro area. There is a map on the DEC website, with the northern head fire about 30km wide and the southern one about 20 odd. Pretty decent fire that is for sure.
