There were 2 of these in WA I think, though I believe 1 is now in SA. Privately owned, and used for private fire protection, airshows, racing etc.

New Fire appliances

Post by redcrab »

hi guys,

i've heard on the grape vine that Christmas Island is getting a new RU 1.4. Can anyone shed any light on that? Does any one have a picture of what it will look like? :) :)

Regards
Aaron.

It's called a 1.4 Rescue. No news about it from my Vehicle & Equipment Advisory Committee sources. Last I heard it hadn't even been built.

ahhh there is currently a prototype 1.4 but it has no Rescue Gear at all in it. Just the same things as a LT and a few extra hoses.
the RU01 is not situated in Perth at the moment Bassendean 2nd is using it for the summer period instead of their light pumper...hopefully this is a sign of good things to come as Guildford have a 2.4, and already both trucks have been out.

about time guildford and basso 2nd got something more usefull then a LP. and yeah already they have been getting good use, i say they just broke there yearly fire call total in a week. lol

lets just hope that fesa management let them keep the 2.4 or 1.4 as yeah an extra 4 stations can make a big difference on a fire ground.
