Significant bush/scrub fires 2008/2009

This thread is predominantly for third alarm and above bush fires however if it is a significant fire (ie threatening homes and businesses) that is at least second alarm then it will be acceptable. If it's not one of those things then post it in one of the other, more appropriate threads.

Please keep the posts to factual information - not rumour, hearsay, possibilities, theories etc. Also keep the information brief and to the point.

Sure that's all the appliances? Generally not enough to classify a 3rd alarm....

can see a thick band of smoke coming from up the hill rolyestone way any ideas where it is or if its a burn

DEC says there's a "Biodiversity Management burn 5km SE of Byford" today. That might be it.

Has anyone got there ears on, that can keep us update with the 2 fires in the hills and the one up around waneroo???

4th Alarm in Spearwood.

The fire on Stock Rd near Forrest Rd was being fought by crews from Canning Vale, Belmont, Fremantle, Murdoch, Success and Claremont, Jandakot Vollies and many others...

Some residents have been asked to evacuate.

Fire in Mt Helena, Sexton x Riley, Under control and being mopped up, Mt Helena 3.4 and LT, Stoneville LT and Sawyers Valley LT. And there was a fire in Morangup, but I think that is under control.

Hamilton Hill Bushfire
Effective 15 Oct 2008 12:33

A bush fire is burning in Hamilton Hill on either side of Stock Road between Forrest and Phoenix Roads.

Strong winds are pushing the fire in a south south-east direction.
There are 35 Fire and Rescue Service and Bush Fire Service firefighters from 12 stations on the scene.

Mundaring and Mt Helena FRS Riley rd, some other light tanker units at 2 seperate fires 1330, parkeville requested to help at other fire. Police requested too..jj

I Agree Milsy we did a burn yesterday arvo and we had trouble with it spotting and that just does not normaly happen this time of year well not for another 6 weeks any way so unles we get a lot of rain hold on to your hats folks it migght be a busy one
