Bullsbrook turned up too from the other side of the valley. 4 Light tankers - Impossible to cross river. Watched Helitacks dropping. With wind blowing the other way - released at about 1930. Communication to 6IP really patchy at best

Mt barker now contained on the edge of town.

News article:

A BUSHFIRE which threatened property and forced the evacuation of a hospital in Mt Barker has been contained.

Fire crews have brought the fire under control near the western edge of the Great Southern town.

Earlier today the fire has crossed Muirs Hwy, forcing the evacuation of 35 patients from Mt Barker hospital and prompting a Fire and Emergency Servicves Authority warning that lives and homes were under threat.

Power to the town was cut and an evacuation was set up at the Mt Barker Recreation Centre.

Anyone know what units responded? Doesn't Mt Barker just have a LP?

Mt Barker has a 2.4 U, Lt and rescue trailer.

Numerous BFB brigades surround the area with Albany and Denmark each only 50 klm away so may have responded for asset protection. Sure wes can fill out the list.

7 power poletop fires in the Busselton shire today. The first one near the Lighthouse, then at locations all over the shire. One major fire near Yallingup which is currently contained. Water bombers and many appliances were in attendance.
I have just got home from this one, and I am hoping that it doesn't jump the breaks overnight, because it is only around 1km upwind of me.
