I can say from past experience (2 VFRS brigades) that SELCALL is used.

with the vols it depends, some times were cell called, but usualy its group calling

How come you dont hear the pips across the radio when someone selcalls? Does the radio operator use it when they cant get crews?
The only time i hear digital noises in when a country BFB comes across the main freq.

cause now the MTT's activate the cell call, and that works on a mobile phone frequency, the perms can use the MTT to cell call each other as well

and with the vollies, you will hear the pips, but mostly they just group call

and the noise you hear from contry brigades and some BFB brigades is the Repeter beeps

Not nit-picking, just checking.. MTT's or MDT's (mobile data terminal)? cellcall or selcall (selective calling)? Also, the pips I hear on country brigades sound like selcall not repeater id's.

i thought the country brigades noises sounded like selcall. why dont we hear this on metro selcalls (selective calling)?

The repeaters don't have ID's.. they don't need to as it's a private radio network. Morse Code and Selcall also sound completely different!

Is 243 MHz still used for EPIRB and other emergency stuff? The only licenced user of that freq is Defence according to ACMA

Not sure, but the ACMA database doesn't list every frequency that's used. EPIRBs etc are probably licensed under a class license.

Does anybody know if this list is accurate? I wonder if the first 10 are input freqs to repeaters and the last 10 are outputs? It appears that way to me. I found another list somewhere else that lists the above ch11-20 as ch1-10
