im in Stratton and im finding the Greenmount repeater clearer, but il program the Red hill repeater in to my bearcat for use when i go to toodyay or chidow

Technically speaking the Greemount repeater is on the 6IP network, and the Red Hill repeater is on 6AR. The networks linked full-time nowadays but they do have the ability to split the metro/career 6AR from the outer metro/BFB 6IP, so it's worth having both channels programmed.

They are hit and miss we get better reception on the Wanneroo channel at Bells Rapids than on the Red Hill channel

wow, i remember looking at a site a few years back and seeing a signal map of perth from different UHF Duplex repeaters for Caravaning and camping, os there anything of the sorts for DFES Signals?

There are, however it's not something they would post online to the public.

thanks for that vk6hgr that actually helps me alot, i think i recall reading that 6IP can be split for rural and BFB and 6AR the Metro DFES during busy periods (Summer) and in crisis scenarios to help cope with the higher flow of traffic, less strain on he operators, correct me if im wrong?

To be fair it's not 6IP is BFB and 6AR is DFES metro, if and whenever they split, the call sign you would use would be dependant on the channel you are on not the colour of your truck.

I would also ask that you remove or resize your signature image as it is far too big.
