Santa was nice to me this Christmas and bought me a new model Tait to replace the 30 year old Philips radio on the main stream.

I should get some time to set up and.install it in the next few weeks.

I decided to use my new Tait for the DFES stream instead. The main stream radio will be upgraded later.

These are the channels that are being scanned on the DFES stream now:

Midband: (Tait T2020)
DFES ch 29, 32, 35, 38. DPaW channels 9 and 18 and simplex 46-50 and 96 to 99

Highband: (Tait TM8115)
DFES ch 110, 139, 141, 206, 221, 238, 294, 346. DPaW channels 645 and Air support channels 621 and 641. Simplex channels 354-365 and Air intel channel 369.

UHF (2 radios): (Tait TM8110 and Simoco SRM9000)
SES channels 1 to 10. ESA 171 and ESB 172. FRS 1 and FRS 2. WAPOL channel 11.

Is the 6AR/6IP stream down? All appears normal, even the slight static sound is still there but there is nothing else. I have listened for hours at a time and heard no voice at all.

Radio was dead. I hit it and now it's undead. :)

Once the parts arrive for the audio interface I'll swap the radio to the newer one that I've got ready.

Thanks vk6hgr for providing the stream. As a vollie I find it very useful for giving me a heads up for a possible call out.

There are some weird, fairly quiet (but annoying) digital sounding signals in the background on the DFES/SES stream. I've finally worked out that this is being caused by a faulty DC solar regulator, I have a new one on the way.

Also, ESB 172 is no longer on the UHF stream. The ESA/B channels are actually SJA channels and they seem to have a lot of digital simplex traffic on them which is really annoying to listen to on an analogue radio. I've kept ESA 171 for now but I'll lock it out for a while if I notice digital traffic on it.

Hi.
Would you mind posting the software you use to stream audio into the net.
I am considering doing this and just interested if the upload end is freeware, and...how many Kbs does it usually use whilst the chanel is in use?
Thanks
Pete :D

Have a visit at broadcastify.com as that's the place where the streams are sent. The software is free and the two streams I run use about 13kb/sec which works out to about 4.5GB/month.

The secondary DFES stream will be put in summer mode have NCC (6AR) taken out of the scan group this week.

The main stream (6AR) radio hasn't been taking kindly to the weather and is dropping its audio. I'm working on a replacement now.

Radioreference, which mirrors the audio feed used by apps like Scanner Radio, is having server problems today and the 6AR feeds appears offline.

The direct URLs still work fine. Open this with a media player (such as VLC) on your PC or add as a custom scanner in your app:

Or try this URL direct in your browser:

The main (Network control/6AR) feed is now running on a little Orange Pi Zero board as the old Windows server I've been running the stream on for ~10 years is being retired.

The stream may go down for a few moments over the next few days while I test things, but initial tests seem to be going well. Let me know if there are any problems.

Hmm. That went well... After testing for a few hours and everything being fine, today the audio volume has dropped to zero. I've temporarily set it up to take the audio from the DFES/SES stream (which has 6AR on the left hand channel) and I'll look at it tonight.

I have removed the old analogue country police channels from the stream as they're no longer used.

The right channel UHF has now been programmed with the new UHF simplex channels. Apparently there are more VHF repeaters added recently in Perth for operations, I'll add them to the left channel stream as I hear traffic on them.
