If we can have one for SJA we can for FESA aswell.

Your first attended job - and the most memorable ?

My first firecall was to a car fire in the very middle of a sandpit...
Wasn't even worth the trip !
To make it even worse it was a Datson haha.

Most Memorable, would be a shed fire with life involvement. It's such a weird feeling to be running on nothing but Adrenaline... Unfortunatly that's an incident with a few sites and smells I won't be forgetting anytime soon...

My current Brigade (first time) - 18th December, 1994. Called to an MVA 20km north of town. We were turned back when we arrived as we were not required. (Attended 24 incidents in total from 1994-1996.)

My former Brigade - first - scrub fire at a quarry back in 1999.
My former Brigade - last - other than just being on station during a truck fire, was a fire in a bin. We were at the town's Gala night, the bin was about 5 metres from us and well within range of the light tanker's hose reel.

I attended 224 incidents from 1999-2006 with that Brigade.

My current Brigade (this time) - with an injured ankle I manned the station radio while the crew attended an MVA. My first attending incident was the Porongurup fire.

Most memorable? Hmmmm... toss-up between a house fire on G.E. Hwy, a large scrub fire on Merredin Peak and a train derailment where I assisted carting tins of paint out of a carriage. I was wearing BA and didn't see the plastic wrapping that held the palettes of paint together. Just as I was carrying out my last two tins I tripped over the plastic and almost went head first into the paint.

First job was a car fire.. we couldnt find it at first though, 'coz the damn thing was pretty much out when we got there.

Most memorable, but not in a good way.. Whiteman Park last year. A few sights and sounds I hope I never have to experience ever again.

First fire was in the CFA and was a factory fire 60 x 40m fully involved doing a search for persons missing in the offices. Great way to be introduced into the world of fire.

Most memorable would now be the T/A on dixon and ennis

For fire:
Both were this year.
First fire, Boya Quarry mop up was only a new pleb then with bright yellow uniform.
Most memorable was my first full turn out fire, which was a grass fire in Koongamia which I saw when driving back from the easter games.

For SES:
First call out.
Early 2006 cyclone had flooded the river in Geraldton, a team was sent up from perth in case it flooded into the town, as the Geraldton mob was exhausted.
Most memorable was Australia Day morning got the page at about 12:30 just after I got home. Someone in Wanneroo area had had someone up on her roof wrecking it, and throwing the tiles off. We rocked up with a team of 3, and realised we needed some more people. Someone down the street had also called the SES and got Wanneroo, they had a team of 3 so we set to work together and completed the job as a mixed team.

First fire;

Was a car fire in the middle of winter. It was raining and out of our area. it was still alight when we got there. I remember have to change a tyre on the way out of the bush because the light tanker ran over a star picket.

Most memorable;

Was a fire in kenwick after a lightning storm. We had live power lines falling beside our truck and glowies blowing across the road like sand..

First Fire:
A garbage truck fire. After a few hours of squirting water into the large skip bin, full of holes, we decided we needed to spread out the rubbish so we loaded the skip back on the truck and drove to the tip. 4 fire trucks and a police escort following a flaming rubbish truck down the highway.

Most memorable:
I have 2 if thats ok.
House fire this year, it was about 2 hours after our BA accreditation, it was a long day. 2 story house with bottom rooms fully involved.
And also the Boya fire, this year or last? can't remember. I remember the pager msg said turn out to 3rd alarm fire, and then listed about 10 brigades in the same msg. We got very hot that day...

First call: Car v house thorpe street. Mangled wreck.

Most Memorable: forensic search kwinana, mix snake infested bushland with a copper armed with a tazer who has a phobia of snakes.... very very funny

cant remember my first but one i remember the most is the zig zag fire and they frs lt rolling off the edge

first fire was a scrub fire in hope valley, was in the 3.4 with the captain, the thing was going pretty good and i was scared of stuffing up.

Most memorable - Banjup fire recently, with jandakot captain in his lt (due to one member having to leave early), being the primary vehicle to stop the fire when the wind changed, extremely full on, cutting fences, trying to protect 5 display homes at once with only 500L of water, intense head fire with the willy willies spinning around, and spotting and spreading extremely fast, being dropped on by the helitac! Plus it was my birthday!!!

2nd most memorable: Lancelin fire (exploding ordenance)
Back in the day when we could do more than just a 6 hour shift, it was my first and only over night fire, sleeping in the back of the 3.4, using the fire blanket as a pillow, bacon and eggs for breakfast, bueno chocolate bars, was all mop up, but was still pretty good.

first callout ever-illegal burn,new years eve a few years ago,got call across road from station,like drive out station drive and drive straight in firecall driveway(buddisht temple)it was like 35* day and pretty much every brigade officeer turned out and we all rocked up went over ther i was in the 3.4 and the silly ppl wer doing ther normal burning off pils of leaves matresses etc wer like wtf!haha its middle of summer,me n jg 103 put the whole thing out with the hoses off the 3.4.

Most memorable to date-i have 3:
1.Spectacles fire on christmas eve 2007,ive never seen a fire that intense in kwinana since ive been in the brigade although i was on the 7.2 it was stil crazy saw a few fire willy willys and it jumped containment lines 3 times becuase control wouldnt give us any vehicles to stop the fire and all we had wer a few bfs light tankers and our 3.4.

2.Forrestdale-earlier this year went to the forrestdale lake fire,first hour was a shambles getting run around by locals and frs,then once we met up with some fellow bushies and got a game plane we finally held it and it jumped the road and helitacs and us stopped it from burning this property then baldivis 1.4 rocked up to help.

3.oakford fire 2005 first 4th alarm fire i ever went to and was in a lt,massive overkill with resources,our 3.4 got bogged wicked on side of road and got pulled out by another 3.4 was pretty kool,they wouldnt let us use our monitors we had to hose everything.

Was that Midland LT?? I know a Darlington LT righted a Midland LT after it had rolled.

First Fire

Taylor Road in forrestdale, 2nd alarm scrub, remember arriving there and seeing the perms lt on one wheel bogged in the swamp, got told to grab hand tools and stop the fire on a little track, yeah it was good fun, running in and bashing the fire with a shovel then running when the fire hit a tee tree, then running back in before the next tree lit up.

Most Fun,

either Pickering Brook / Roleystone, or Forrestdale.

both were good, in a lt at PB, doing patrols on the calm breaks, lol nothing like LT Rally. and at forrestdale, had to follow the calm loaders while cutting around the fire, wich is still roaring, yeah that was a good night, wish i had a camera so i could take a few snaps, of the fire jumping over the loaders and there ute, (regional Parks 6, was there call sign)

my first fire wasnt much just a small paddock fire power lines came down in the paddock.

most memorable because i only started this year was a fire in wundowie a person went to the local post office to report it there was 4 houses under threat when the call went out and thankfully we got the helitaks out fast and killed the running fire in under 2 hours if the wind had changed it would have threatened another town aswell.
