Incident in East Perth

Folks,

On the way back to the office this afternoon at about 2:30, the police had blocked off Bennett Street at the cross of Wellington. On Bennett Street there were a heap of vehicles, a couple of FRS tenders, some City of Perth vehicles, and a couple of police cars on the Wellington Square park land.

A bit further up the road, the Osborne Park SET fire engine passed me with lights and sirens going.

Any idea what's going on?

Nope no smoke or signs of fire. But I didn't have much chance to look around - I had an intersection to get through and a CAT bus on my left that wanted to share some of my lane

Yeah I heard it was a gas leak too.
On the Nova news @ 5pm they put a message out to everyone living in East Perth to air their houses out tonight and not to light up....

Apparently some workers hit a gas pipe in Bennett Street......
