Wangara appears to have its new pumper but not in operation as yet. They must be doing training on the new while using the old as I saw them turn out in the old pumper.

The old pump seems to have gone, and their new pump looks at home in the engine bay.

Seen an old 70 series landcruiser (6 cyl) marked up as USAR today. In career colours with a tray body & tool boxes, LED's & the fluro magnet - Urban Search & Rescue. It's fleet number was X059. Looked like an old LT that had been converted. Anyone know where this is based?

I know that during recruit schools they give the pumps calls signs eg. forrest field 1st and 2nd, Kewdale 1st and 2nd and so on but wasnt aware they had arranged magnetic decals for them.

probably one of those pumps maybe returning from a service or something

Darlington, Glen Forrest, Stoneville and Sawyers Valley have all had a LT replaced with a 1.4R. All Shire of Mundaring brigades now have medium tanker (1.4, 3.4 or 4.4)

The new ICV's are almost there, the TRK for them is in a draft version atm and should hopefully be out soon, with crews trained for the next fire season!

There are 6 of these units being trialled throughout WA at the moment. 3 are single cabs, 3 are dual cabs and there is a 6 week trial period. The slip on tank/pump system is a trial of a system from Queensland based on high efficiency, high pressure pumps, delivering approx 30% more effective water delivery with the same tank size and 60metre hose reels as standard. I have driven the single cab version around our patch during trials and on the face of it it was somewhat more cable than both our Landcruiser LT and Isuzu 1.4R.

Seen a new CLP on Kwinana Freeway this morning heading south. Was still in the process of being built. Had a Bronto mounted on it, with the bodywork in the usual red colour. The Scania cab was still painted white though. Otherwise looked the same as CLP 3.
