on Sunday it was announced that all 'A Shift' Career fire fighters were to report to perth fire station. for them to man any available appliance to go to roleystone control, these trucks would be any that were at Forrestfield Training Center (most are which the old Heavy Pumps and Mazda Light Pumps and a few Light Tankers) or any available appliance at O'Connor Workshops.

I heard on the command channel on sunday

Forrestfield 1st
Forrestfield 2nd
Forrestfield 3rd
HP 03
HP 05
LT 202

This has been mentioned several times before. Many of the outer metro FRS stations are issued a 2nd (or 3rd) Light Tanker (not Pump) during the height of the summer fire season due to the increased turn-outs to bush/scrub/mulch/rubbish fires (these appliances would normally be housed at Forrestfield or O'Connor). They are staffed either by shuffling existing station crews/rosters or by additional firefighters from the relief pool. Therefore stations such as Midland, Ellenbrook etc will have a Pump and 2x LTs for a few months during summer. There are a small number of "spare" Pumps at Forrestfield and O'Connor that can be deployed as required (as they were for the Roleystone/Kelmscott fires in Feb '11).

outer metro stations have a extra pump for the current conditions that we are experiencing. This is above the extra Lt that they normally get.

Roleystone always has two 3.4's (one BFS, one FRS) and a BFS fast attack. They also get an FRS fast attack during the summer months.

Have they received another on top of those? That's alot of crew required to man them all if so!

Mazda's weren't taken out from what I've been told, only the old Heavy Pumps.
WF I don't know what appliances Roleystone has, but dare I say it, Meg is a part of the brigade, though VFRS would I believe normally have a 2.4 equiv. appliance.

You could be right about the red truck being a 2.4 - I forget they exist after so long in a world of only 3.4's and light tankers :D

It could be old, but even http://frsvols.asn.au/wp/?page_id=105&submit=Go state's that they both are 2.4's. And from the recent pictures of the Kelmscott/Roleystone Fire I could swear they said 2.4, but then again it's about time I need to have my eyes tested.

@ Meg - you still at Roleystone Fire Station?
