early bushfire season.

Post by doogues71 »

was watching the news last night and they recken it's going to be a bad year for bushfires. And they have already had a bad one over in the east.So it won't belong before our first bushfire happens here. And doesn't look like the hills area are prepared for it.

It was a fairly dry winter so that may have a bad effect on the fire season.

Just mean an earlier start. Lots of rain is bad too, because lots more growth..

Yup, nearly everything is dual turnout up this way - our pagers are linked so anything that goes to one brigade will go to the other automatically.

Considering the northern-most boundary of our fire district is about 35km's away from where they are 'proposing' to build our station, its best to get stuff moving as quick as you can..

doogues, thats because when calm back burns the hills, all the enviromentalists and asthmatics and some others get upset about the polution and all the rest. Thats pretty much the main reason the hills fire was so big, because it was fuel that hadnt been burnt for 10-15 years, burning the fuel is a big way to prevent big fires like that, and if we arent alowed to back burn (control burn- same thing) then you'll be seeing plenty more big fires like that of the one in the hills.
