Rescue 65

Post by Craig »

Has anyone else heard Rescue 65 talking to 6AR?

They were going to an accident in Warnbro tonight. Just wondering if it is the RAC Rescue 1 chopper or has FESA now got their own?

Picked up the tail end of a conversation on the FESA channel tonight. Rescue 65 was talking to them about landing on an oval at Margaret River for transport to a hospital.

I just put a 78Mhz capable radio on the car and Heard Rescue 65 talking to 6IP going to that incident near Margaret River. They were advised to switch to channel 99 when they get there.

We quite regulary(?) here rescue 65 talking to 6DS. if they are going to say a traffic accident in the Northam district, you will here them talking with the Northam firies, on 78.125, discussing the landing areas that are suitable.

RAC Rescue 1 *is* FESA's chopper. It is sponsored by RAC and mobilisation is handled by St Johns as it is their paramedics that are onboard.

It was used by FESA up in Wanneroo a few weeks ago to do reconnaisance of a fire.

Hi Glen,

Do you perhaps mean Woodridge and 1pm Saturday afternoon? (little too much Christmas cheer? ;) )

Woodridge is North of Perth in the Shire of Gingin (next town north of Two Rocks). The person on the radio calling in as Woodridge Ambulance sounded like the Captain of the Gingin West Bush Fire Brigade. I assume he is involved with both :)

Was a bit of a mess, really. 6IP doesnt handle the mobilisation of Rescue 65, but sounded like they had no mobile telephone coverage where they were (from listening to 6DS).
