I actually just purchased that scanner. It's a good unit. But beware of the following:

You cannot just dial in a frequency and save it to the memory!

You have to press the Band key, enter the band the frequency that you want is in, (example 400Mhz to 512Mhz) and then hold the up or down key or press search and then hold when you get near the frequency you want. (in our example, 415.5Mhz). Only then can you save it.

It's a real pain compared to my EZI30XLT, which just lets you dial in the specific frequency that you want straight away.

Once you have the frequencies you want, it works great. So Yes. I do recommend for use in your car.

Prestige also offer decent antennas.
