WHAT FIREFIGHTERS ARE DOING:
100 firefighters from the Department of Parks and Wildlife, Shire of Plantagenet and Shire of Denmark, Department of Fire and Emergency Services, private plantation companies and contractors are using 36 appliances and six heavy machines to bring the fire under control.
Firefighters are working to contain the fire to existing tracks and private property boundaries within the Clear Hills and Amarillup forest blocks in Mount Roe National Park.
Backburning will continue throughout the day and into the evening.

EXTRA INFORMATION:
The fire was reported at 4pm on Friday 03 January 2014.
The cause of the fire is suspected deliberate lighting.
