I doubt this is a DEC run fire, can you clarify?.... no where near DEC land. DEC may have been first arriving or had detected the fire... From the types of resources turning out i believe DFES is running the job.

BUSHFIRE BEHAVIOUR:
The bushfire is burning south of Greys Road and is burning in a north easterly direction.

It is out of control

Burning embers are likely to be blown around your home and spot fires are starting ahead of the fire.

The fire has burnt through more than 700 hectares.

WHAT FIREFIGHTERS ARE DOING:
One hundred and seventy career and volunteer Fire and Rescue Service, Bush Fire Service and Department of Environment and Conservation firefighters are on the scene.
Wow... that's a big fire

I think it would be incorrect of me if I posted false information! I post what I hear. 6AR initially advised responding crews that no firm cross street was available initially as DEC did not pass on information. This incident WAS initially managing the fire until DFES CFRS, VFRS, VBFB units were asked to respond Fire Call. Once DFES arrived, the incident was handed over to DFES from DEC. As to why DEC was "managing" the incident when it started, I wouldn't have a clue! Is this enough to clarify for you?

Let's stay on topic shall we?
