Hi,

I would like some help to work out what scanner i need to buy to pick up Perth Fire and Rescue radio communications, for both command centre and local appliance communication. The station I am interested in is Armadale.

thanks all

Hi Mathew,

The majority of scanners will pick them up. Something like a Uniden UBC73XLT or the cheaper EZI30XLT off eBay, usually I quote Prestige Communications in Malaga for pricing but the website appears to be down.

Any scanner that picks up FM narrow band transmissions in the 136-174 MHz range should be ok. You need to decide what sort of scanner you want... hand-held vs desktop, do you want trunking reception, do you want all the bells and whistles or just a basic scanner. The more features and larger frequency range, the higher the price.
