Got to love DEC, but hey good on them, and they have obviously done a good risk assessment. I just love all the clowns who go and comment on the article.

Got to love selective reporting. The burn area of approximately 2500 hectares is in the shires of Demark and Manjimup. The Fire and Emergency Services Authority provided DEC with an exemption from the prohibited burning season to maintain the security of the burn.

Exemption from FESA? DEC don't need exemptions if its on DEC managed lands, they spend a lot of time doing a prescription before a burn.
I read the comments then get angry, its a love/hate thing I have going on, one thing is obvious though and thats the comments are getting dumber and there is more of them! DEC might find themselves in a situation where the political pressure is once again restricting the burning program. If that happens then give it a few years and we are going to see some real issues... and DEC is then going to get the blame for not burning!
