Whilst I can't comment on the brigades, I'd imagine even living further away whilst you might not get onto the first turn outs, you may be suited to relieve crews on longer events? Just a guess on my behalf.
"VKI, NJ050 will you be attending the job?"
"Negative VKI, my desk is bolted to the floor".

Your best bet is to pm Written Fiction and see what Darlington has to offer. You will attend more incidents and be less political than Basso or Guildford.

Wouldn't do any good in PM me, unfortunately I'm not at Darlington! Perhaps... try our resident TV presenter Aunty_eyes, believe that is where he hides out.

Have you ever considering East or West Swan?

Acide, West Swan generally prefers members to be from the City of Swan and within 2 or 3 suburbs away, although this is not a hard and fast rule, let me know if you're interested and I'll let you know when our next maintenance day is if you want to drop in for a chat and station tour.

Isn't all brigades political to a degree regardless of what service badge is on their shirts...

Personally if I were you I would be going to visit East Swan, however that is my opinion and I have been a fire fighter for over 11 years now.

Hi Acidie,

A thought in a different direction, so to speak. If distance is possably a bother but its some form of emergency service you are after, have you given thought to SES? There are many more urban units which may give you want you require.

Cheers
