Major fires 2006/07
Moderator: bogged
Somethings up in Midland near the Swan Leisure Centre and the old Ace cinemas (off Morrison Rd).. FESA seemed to have a red command centre truck (never seen it before?) and several tankers there.. WAPOL have blocked the road between the two. Heard something to the effect the fires not yet under control.
Anyone know anything by any chance?

Red bus would be the FRS ICV, which is automatic turnout for 3rd alarm and above. Over the past few months since ace moved to their new complex at the Midland gate shopping centre there has been numerous fires in this now vacant complex.

1st Alarm - Initial arriving crews can handle the job, usually from 1 unit, i.e. Midland
2nd Alarm - Initial arriving crew plus another crew, i.e. Midland and Bassendean at a major TA
3rd Alarm - A few more crews generally bush fires, i.e. Midland, Darlington, Bassendean, Guildford
4th and 5th alarms are huge, I think 4th alarms are as many spare metro units available and 5th alarm starts looking at state assets, i.e. port hedland tankers for fires down south etc.
Tom or Wes or someone else with the actual details should be able to fill in the gaps and provide more details where required, but that gives you the basics.

If stupidity got me into this mess, why can't it get me out.

2nd alarm usually 2-4 depending on incident type
3rd usually 4 or more, as well as District Managers, Incident Control Vehicle and other support.
Above third is generally very big, with multiple appliances, including specialist and support vehicles and personnel.
