You might have seen a oldish guy with a handycam and a monopod (tripod but with only 1 leg). He is an ex-cammo who goes to lots of stuff on the Midland channel.
Sorry about the delay - havent been on since that fire...
I found that an interesting read jmmw & as now has being pointed out there is specifically a thread for this but for those who interested you may find this interesting site to have a look at as many people don't know of it.
The Federal Government Productivity Commission produces a report every year regarding Government Services which is released usually at the end of January every year.
Part of the report into Government Services looks at Emergency Management / Services and does a comparision between each states' Fire Services, Ambulances, Police etc etc.
If you are intersted in seeing how WA compares to every other state this where it will be found.
The main site address is www.pc.gov.au
And the references to the emergency services can be found at
http://www.pc.gov.au/gsp/reports/rogs/2 ... index.html
That why I specifically referred to Perth as it shows a direct comparision to other major cities in Australia (Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney etc).
For those who are interested it does make interesting reading as it also deals with funding, manning etc.
