just come from baldivis incident. will be mopping up well into tomorow. it got very close to property when it jumped old mandurah rd. helitacs did a great job knocking most of it out there. saw keysbrooke lt there.

Was a shit of a job, I was the inital turn out, - Baldivis 4.4, Turned onto Old mandurah road with visablity @ Zero and the fire well and truly into the swamp on the western side, we set control up on Fifty and old mandurah road and waited for resourses.

787 and two helitacks were mobilised to the incident, as was the SJ Shire's appliances & a few from kwinana.

FRS appliances from as far away as Freo and success attended also.

The fact that we had to shoot off half way through to attend another firecall didn't help. ( Lil boy playing with a candle in bushland?, The cops who delt with him gave him what was needed

)

Helitacks did a brilliant job as per usual, and as it was in UXO Land, it certainly made access incredibly limited.

I'll be back out there tommorrow with smithy @ 0600 for a 8 hour shift, hopefully it stays dead...

Just gotta watch for those widow makers.

Also, thanks to that Tom guy at ComCen, He did a brilliant job typing out Pages all day

Hope Valley just called in 2nd alarm at Bingfield rd Medina. More Lts required and police for traffic control on thomas rd. Rockingham 1st as backup.

the fire was well away from houses and it was heading towards thomas road for the main part,once BFS resources and rockingham 2nd arrived it was contained about 30 minutes later.

probably about 5ha or more were burnt and it was fairly crap country,usually theres a decent fire in that area every year.
