3 x DEC burns near the south coast. (Walpole, Manjimup, Pardelup.) Smoke was thick from Williams to about Cranbrook.

we didnt ask for any particular brigade to turn out to our fire in reen rd it was the comms centre who made the decision on who they called they after all have to bigger picture there on whats happening around town

Yep - some people think that ComCen have no idea. They do... if anyone's been through there they'll see what info they have and the way they turn out Brigades/Groups/Units.

yep i agree they do a hell of a lot in there and do it very well especially since they have only from 3 to 5 people at a time running the whole state in there, i recon it should be manditory for all brigades to visit the comms centre will give you all a greater appreciation for what they do in there and how much they do for all of us whether we vollies or paid firies.

Pilot killed and co pilot with serious injuries in NSW Helitac crash, they have also had a few close calls over the two past days, news article is http://www.smh.com.au/national/one-kill ... -kixc.html

Careful with your quotes newbie. Pilot critically injured and passenger (Park Ranger) killed.

When they update news articles the links still stay valid to the updated version, at the time of posting they were saying a pilot... why do I need to be carefull? is the boogie man going to come and get me for posting material that can change? :lol:

I would have thought it would be too much smoke for the Freo fire, so quickly? My birds eye view shows nothing. Definately can smell it through the air con vents
