Kwinana Beach/Hope Valley Bush Fire - Issued: Wednesday, 23 January 2008 12:14 PM

FESA advises residents at home in the locality of Kwinana Beach/Hope Valley that a bush fire is burning near Anketell Road and Rockingham Road.

Fire crews are on the scene.

Due to the threat of ember attack residents in the area should:
• Close all doors and windows;
• Turn evaporative air-conditioners but keep the water running through the system if possible;
• Remain vigilant and prepare to implement their bush fire action plan.

Due to smoke and firefighters on site, drivers are advised to reduce speed and proceed with caution. If possible avoid the area.

Further information will be released as it become available.

Ankatell Control have requested refreshments for about 20 people and are in mop-up phase.

Mandurah incident has 2 x 2.4 and 2 x LT appliances working on an 800m fire front not yet under control.

Just back from the shops and I turned the FESA stream on again to hear that a f/f has been injured by a falling tree in Mandurah. SJA has been called.

A busy day for the Mandurah/Falcon/Secret Harbour crews. :shock:
