Fire in Kwinany, reported it and Hope Valley attended.

we got another callout to the spectacles,i believe its smoke from the forrestdale incident.

good too see there sending 3.4s and 2.4 to the forrestdale incident.

Call out made to Carine Glades open Space again, still smouldering, was also yesterday when i went past during work, its years of swamp vetetation thats grown on top of each other every year for goodness how long, an area i saw was 18 inches deep of thick matted creeper and they cant get the water to soak through it, it will smoulder for some time.

Its actually called peat. It will burn down as far as the water table as it has it's own oxygen. It can burn numerous meters underground and then pop up and create another fire. This will probably be burning until the winter rains raise the water table. Speak to the guys from Wanneroo as they know all about it.

Yes, I know what peat is, this is not peat, its a creaper (as described above) of heavy nature, grows around edge swampy areas,ci went and actually saw some burning underneath and other untoughed, firies told me its a pest weed, years of matting on top of each season.

Malaga should be able to drive backwards to carine open space by now, ,another 2 fires there this morning, and they dampening down now,,,

Have any firemen/women been home for xmas,,doubt it.
