Significant fire at Cape Naturaliste burning north west towards the ocean. Crews apparently protecting the lighthouse. Source - ABC Radio.
FESA Alert might be a good source of extra info.
(If tropospheric ducting is in people in Perth might be able to hear the chatter on the VHF mid-band.)

Fire in or around the tip at Albany.

Albany Career (MPHR, LT, 2.4UT) and Volunteers (CP, LT) plus King River BFS 2.4, Kalgan BFS 2.4 and South Coastal BFS in attendance or en route. Channel 102. Control point on Serpentine Road x Lion? Street.

Water bombers are on mid band channel 9, high band 525.

Edit 1637 - Forestry appliance in attendance. Albany Careers en route from fire to an MVA requiring a patient extraction.

surprised noone had reported the multiple fires from medina through to baldivis in the early hours of the morning.
lots of vehicles at 4-5 seperate large fires, but then again it was operating between 0200 and 0600.

there was a 3rd alarm scrub fire today up at bullsbrook near neaves rd had 2water bombers,the choppers 670,671,767 most bullsbrook,east and west swan tankers etc swan icv heard at one stage had burnt apprx 5 hec that was about 4pm this arvo dont know if this was the smoke you seen

I didnt hear much on the scanner, thus why I posted what I did. It was all over by the time I heard Swan ICV rock up.
